Enchanting Ella: What's Life Without Barnes & Noble?

Say it isn't so.  No really, please someone say it isn't true that Barnes & Noble will be closing down most of it's retail stores (at least 20 per year) for the next decade.  Where will we go for free wi-fi?  McDonalds?  Starbucks?  

How will we get to sample the books before we buy them?  How will we get to experience the smell of paperbacks fresh out of the shipping box and onto the shelves?  

What is this world coming to?  Oh that's right.... we're in a "digital age" and everything is going electronic.  Companies have become paperless so the literary world should follow suit.  I'm not really sure how to deal with this.  I love a good paperback.  However, I might be a significant "root" of the issue considering most of my library consists of ebooks.  

So it is with humble apologies Barnes & Noble that I clearly state - I am truly sorry to see you go.  Well at least 20 stores per year for the next decade.  I'll see you online though.  Right here:

My TBR list - I'll never catch up

Do you ever feel like your "To Be Read" list will ever get smaller?  


I'm having anxiety over mine lately.  Each time I finish another book, I find 5 more to add to my list.  It's like these books breed.  Like a book knows you are about to finish and it decides to make more books to add to your list.  


As of today I believe I have approximately 212 books on my "To Be Read" list.  Oy!


Even if I read a book every 2-3 days I will never finish this year.  It's almost defeating.  It almost makes me crazy.  But then I remember that I'm not alone.  I know people that have longer lists than me!

Enchanting Ella: I am a 1-Click Addict

My Name is Enchanting Ella, and I am a 1-click addict.

I'm in several book groups on Facebook.  Earlier this week there were many discussions on how many great books have released within the last 2 months.  This has apparently made me a 1-click addict.  $0.99 here and $1.99 there....before I knew it I had over 25 new books within 2 weeks.

I also have been taking advantage of the free books available for download.   These have been made available by the author's who are trying to promote upcoming books or get their names out there.  Made my reading list grow by miles.  I'm now roughly 30-35 books behind.   Thankfully I do not have a spouse to get upset with me for my bad spending habits.

I, however, am far from alone.  At least 30-40 other ladies mentioned having the same issues as myself. Phew, I'd hate to be alone in this addiction.  Books are such a great escape.  I wish I had more hours in the day to read.  My job sort of gets in the way.  But, without the job - I wouldn't be able to mouse over that good 'ol 1-click and get what I want as often as I want.  So I feel blessed to have that job that doesn't allow me to read for 9 hours of my awake time.
